This is @jj_editor_gerardopineda. Gerardo is such a consistent editor. You notice when he is editing, but you notice it even more when he is not around.
We have a number of Mexicans with us, @lizpe and @gracenavarro, just to name a couple. Some of the best editors we have. And Gerardo is a worthy part of that Mexican editing tradition. You just have to take a look at his editor’s gallery see what I’m talking about.
Born in the town of Tonalá (Chiapas), Gerardo moved to Ciudad de México when he was fifteen. With a degree in communication and public relations, Gerardo has worked as a photographer for several newspapers and as an editor and photographic producer for a couple of magazines. His skills as a photographer are obvious. His work has been presented in several photography exhibits. And he has even published a photo book of his own! ‘A petición del mar’ (By sea request’).
Gerardo discovered Instagram in 2012 on a friend’s suggestion. He became addicted. @turulo says he stays loyal to mobile photography and shoots and edits every picture just with his iPhone. IMHO bravo for him! He use to shoot mostly black and white images, but he currently tries to enhance the colors on every single image he takes. Ask him about his #jj experience and he’ll enthusiastically tell you how much editing collages has helped his photographic eye. Another point for him!
Passions besides photography? Travelling, chinese and mexican food (of course!), movies, drama, museums and enjoying life with his two Cockers (Cookie and Junior). Loves dancing though he reckons he has two left feet like me! (LOL).
It’s great having colleagues around with such skill and love for what you do. And it’s true, guys. You notice when he’s editing in the forums, but you notice it even more when he’s not.
Be sure to drop by his personal account @turulo to learn more about him!
