Meet Kristina @jj_editor_3reesespieces. The editor with the toughest username. Try looking her up. You’ll fail finding her at least a couple of times when searching in your explore tab.
Kris… Oh Kris… Remember that June? A year ago? Everyone of us like kids on their first year at school. New classmates, a bag full of hopes and excitement… And here we are now!
When I first talked with Kris, I asked her to help me get some pictures for a “girls” feature. And she did the same with the guys! I think that was the first editor’s collab in JJ’s history. It was so fun!
Ok. . . the interview. :-) If @jj_editor_nselmo is our Iron Man, Kris is our Iron Woman. I have never met an editor fighting so many battles. Did you know that this lady sent me her interview already written up? Crazy! Now what do I do? They’re gonna fire me! :-) Seriously now. No one manages and moderate as many anarchy groups as her. And she edits, has two galleries… In short, she’s the hard worker in the shadows.
So, take it away Kris! Hello y’all! My name is Kristina, @jj_editor_3reesespieces. I was born & raised in NY, but have lived in North Carolina most of my life. I am of Nicaraguan descent, as well as Italian & Native American. Most of my family lives in Nicaragua & Costa Rica & have visited there many times!
I started Instagram almost 3 years ago & quickly realized that it was more than just an app to share photos. It made me realize the art of taking photos & telling a story with them. The friends I have made were the icing on the cake! It’s amazing to think that I could hop on a plane and fly to any country & instameet with someone I have a connection with on IG. The first place I would travel to, if I had the opportunity would be to England! I have several special friends that live there & it would be amazing to finally meet.
I have 3 crazy boys & I work as a Floral Designer, so my daily life is pretty hectic, but I wouldn’t have it any other way! I have two personal instagram pages, because I realized my love for taking photos of my boys, as well as my photo adventures of urban exploration. Along with my team of close-knit friends, we have started several JJ anarchy pages. @jj_humanedge, @jj_sombre, @jj_allportraits & @jj__mextures. Honestly, none of that would be possible, if it weren’t for my wonderful team of friends, who have the same dedication & love for Instagram & jj as I do.
My favorite types of photography are portraits & abandonment. Finding the beauty in decay & abandoned buildings is truly an art form that many people overlook. Taking a peek into what once was, is part of the fun. Portraits & the human face can tell a story just from simple expression, so portrait photography has become one of my favorites, hence why we started jj_allportraits, to celebrate the beauty of people around the world.
One word that best describes me? Well, on several occasions I have been called “the fun one”, so that’s what I have been known to by my friends and co-workers. I have always been a “fly by the seat of my pants” spontaneous kind of person. I like change & I like to try new things! There isn’t really a time that I am 100% serious. I am always thinking of a punch line. So if an autobiography was ever written it would probably be called, ‘Laughter Sammich: The Bread & Butter of Life ;-) So, I basically try to find a way to look on the bright side of things & try to make people laugh, or give a friend my shoulder to cry on, if they need it.
The number 1 song most played in my iPod? Ohhhh that’s a tough one! I like way too many different types of music, but my go-to would have to be anything from Avenged Sevenfold for some good rock tunes, or Eric Church, for some good old American Country. The most embarrassing album I have ever owned was my New Kids on the Block albums, which I still listen to on occasion. It totally brings me back to my carefree childhood days. My favorite movie of all time is Stand By Me & I love the soundtrack! Anything vintage & 50’s style, I love! The cars, the clothes, the music & just the overall style of the 1950’s is awesome to me.
So, this is me, in a short story… So stop by, if you’d like. You can catch a glimpse of my daily life as a florist & mother at @3reesespieces or if you want to walk on the wild side and check out my fun Urbex adventures, stop on by and say hello to me at @shadow.boxer I promise it’ll be interesting.
Kris… Don’t know where do you get all that energy from… Really impressive my dear ‘dark’ colleague! (Don’t try to understand this. She knows what I mean). I love you Kris!
